(( OOC: There are a huge amount of really cool people in this community, but due to it’s size we don’t really get to interact with as many people as we’d like to. So I’ve come up with an idea that will let us get to know people outside of our immediate friendship groups – kinda like a book club, only instead of books, we have scripts, and the authors…. are us.
The HP RP Script Swap!
Everyone who wants to participate has to write a script, but you won’t be writing it for yourself. You’ll be randomly assigned another rp-er to write for, so it’s your job to get to know them if you don’t already, investigate their blog, and think of what sort of script and characters would suit them best. It’ll be a cool way to interact with people in the community you may not have spoken to yet.
The rules are:
If you want to participate, send me a message with your blog url and I’ll add you to the list.
Your partners will be assigned using a random generator, so no one gets to chose who their partner is.
However, the person you are writing for may be writing for someone else, and vice versa. So you’ll likely get to work with more than one person!
Your script should be no longer than a page – we don’t want any ten-part epic series, here.
You are only writing for your assigned partner, so all characters in the script have to be played by them.
There should be no more than two characters in your script… unless your partner has said they’re up for a challenge.
The finished script should be a surprise – so don’t discuss it’s content or characters with your partner until you are ready to hand it over.
The script has to be set within the Harry Potter era, but it can be from any generation or time period e.g. Marauders, Golden Trio, Next Gen, etc.
Use the tag #hp rp script swap on all of your final posts, so everyone can keep track of the cool threads being made!
Don’t panic if you feel script writing isn’t your strongest point. This is still a community, so the point is that everyone groups together to share ideas and advice. I even wrote a bunch of script-writing tips down here. And if you’d rather sit back and enjoy all the madness rather than get involved yourself, that’s cool too!
Those who want to participate in the script swap please send me your names by this Friday 23rd March. Then I’ll assign everyone their partners that weekend and set the deadline for the scripts and threads.
