they also deleted Dudley saying that Harry isn’t a waste of space.

because they thought a creepy-ass scene where harry does up ginny’s dress was more worth the screentime

No fuck this scene. She doesn’t get to lock Harry in a fucking cupboard, blame him for all her problems, and then go “You didn’t just lose a mother. I lost a sister.” She is making it about her and her problems like usual. When Harry is clearly trying to make her leave so that she can be safe. She is manipulating him into making him feel guilty for even thinking that Lily might mean more to him.
He could have had a mother in petunia, but she chose to treat him like trash. He could have had a family in her but she locked him in a cupboard and make him feel like he was less than nothing.
This is NOT character development. This is a woman who is once again making her nephew feel like his problems don’t mean anything and he is worthless.
Harry is such the bigger person here. He didn’t have to make sure the dursleys got somewhere safe. He could have let the death eaters torture them and kill them but he didn’t.
Dudley Dursley is the only one who showed significant character development. He showed remorse for the things he did and tried to let Harry know that he was sorry.
And the meaning of Tonks’s Patronus and her mouse-colored hair, and the reason she had come running to find Dumbledore when she had heard a rumor someone had been attacked by Greyback, all suddenly became clear to Harry; it had not been Sirius that Tonks had fallen in love with after all.
