(( OOC: I didn’t get to watch all of it….. because did you know it’s four bloody hours long???!! Because I didn’t!
But I have the following comments for the three-quarters that I did watch:
Frodo is literally a human crossed with a bush baby, I have never seen eyes that large on a man in my life.
Bush baby hobbit creeps me out a bit, but the other three hobbits? Loves of my life. Adorable, precious babies. Protect them at all costs.
The dramatic ranger guy has the strangest chin I’ve seen in my life?
The special effects makeup is hella good, bearing in mind this is a pretty old film now… those orcs are CREEPY AF
That scene where Bilbo Baggins goes ape shit at Frodo and turns into a little goblin for around two seconds scared the total bejeezus out of me like I was playing one of those horrible jump scare games
THEY JUST DID GANDALF LIKE THAT DIDN’T THEY? Like I know he magically comes back because he’s in the other films but really, you’re gonna kill off the old man in the first film? Harsh.
A lot of the stuff felt trope-y but I realise it’s probably because every other film got their tropes from this one? So this is the original trope film? Which is fair enough.
I liked all the references they made to the Hobbit films.
The last point was a joke please don’t come for my life
So, yep. First time watching Lord of the Flies. Wasn’t terrible. Four out of five stars. ))
