((OOC: Okay, so I filmed this ages ago coughlastnovembercough but I never really finished what I had in mind for it, but also thought it was a shame to go to waste. So here is a minimalistic version of the scene from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, chapter 22 – “After the Burial”. sorry ‘but dark gifs))

In Hagrids hut around his enormous table sits three shadows. The biggest of them is heavy asleep with his giant head against the wall, snoring loudly. Across from the young boy with the round glasses sits an elderly Hogwarts teacher who finally pulled himself together and asked questions, which have tormented him for so many years.

“I don’t—don’t suppose you remember it, Harry?” he asked awkwardly.

“No—well, I was only one when they died,” said Harry, his eyes on the flame of the candle flickering in Hagrid’s heavy snores.

“But I’ve found out pretty much what happened since. My dad died first. Did you know that?”

“I—I didn’t,” said Slughorn in a hushed voice.

“Yeah… Voldemort murdered him and then stepped over his body toward my mum,” said Harry.

Slughorn gave a great shudder, but he did not seem able to tear his horrified gaze away from Harry’s face.

“He told her to get out of the way,” said Harry remorselessly.

“He told me she needn’t have died. He only wanted me. She could have run.”

“Oh dear,” breathed Slughorn. “She could have… she needn’t… That’s awful…”

“It is, isn’t it?” said Harry, in a voice barely more than a whisper.

“But she didn’t move.

Dad was already dead,

but she didn’t want me to go too.

She tried to plead with Voldemort…

but he just laughed…”

“That’s enough!” said Slughorn suddenly, raising a shaking hand”

James Potter gets so much unnecessary hate in the HP fandom… and it’s 100% because of how they portrayed him in the films.

They put in all the “bad” parts, and ignored all the good parts to make Snape look better. Not cool.

People hate him because he bullied Snape in high school. But they conveniently forget that Snape was part of a Wizard Nazi cult at the same age. Interesting.

Which ship do you like more, Marlene x Dorcas or Marlene x Sirius?

Marlene x Dorcas: Dorlene 💖

The thing is that I really don’t see Marlene and Sirius in a romantic way. I mean, hell yeah, they love each other, but they have this teasing relationship, that doesn’t lead anywhere because: 1) they’re both hella gay and 2) they’re too alike. They have the same bitchy dominant attitude, that just leads to their constant ‘queen’ competition. I friendship it so hard tho.

I have an idea of them – before finally admitting they’re gay – getting drunk af and then hooking up at this party because that seemed like a reasonable idea at the point. But then both nope the f out of it because that was like kissing a brother and honestly kissing James would have been better for both of them…. it then takes a week or two before they can properly speak with each other again.

Gay babies 💖

Just like Slughorn, Albus Dumbledore collects people. Only, instead of focusing on those with influence, he looks to the outcasts.

The expelled half-giant.
The young werewolf.
The repentant Death Eater.

He protects them and gives them a second chance. All he asks in return is their loyalty.

And, if on occasion he requests that they undertake a certain task, invoking their debt of gratitude – well, that is no more than he is owed.

He once thought to add a certain disowned Black to his collection, but quickly realised his mistake.

Sirius is not an outcast, but a rebel. He knowingly chose his path, and chooses what price he is willing to pay for it. He refuses to be used.

So Albus Dumbledore abandons him.

Who gave you the RIGHT?

Dumbledore knows Sirius’s loyalty lies with Harry instead of him, and he has no use for someone who is not willing to follow his orders without question.
